Twitter and MySpaceIM support

We’ve just launched twitter support so you can now send posts and view your twitter feed, all from the Trutap application. Here’s how to get going:

Go to Services, choose blogs, and add the twitter blog application
After adding the application, whenever you update your Trutap status we’ll automatically update your twitter status at the same time. Easy!
If you want to just update twitter (and not Trutap), go to your contacts and send a Trutap message to the twitter contact
Also, to check out your twitter feed go to IM, add the twitter service, then click on the twitter.com buddy - you’ll see your feed appear in the chat window. You can use use any of the standard twitter commands in this chat window e.g. “FOLLOW username”, “LEAVE username” etc.

PS. We also support MySpaceIM now too! You’ll find MySpace in the list of IM services, just enter your account details and get chatting.

Trutap - the next generation

Great news! After many months of perspiration and inspiration, today we’re launching our next generation application at the Future of Mobile conference today in London. In addition to a stylish new design, the new version has lots of features that make finding and keeping in touch with friends really easy - including a personal newsfeed, a list of who’s online, sharing of status and location, a new extended profile with lots more fields, improved user search, email and SMS! Plus the app has all the existing private messaging, news, blogging, photo-sharing and mobile IM features you know and love. If you’re a new user, just go to the homepage to get a link to download the application or download to PC. If you’re an existing user, go to http://m.trutap.com/u on your mobile phone browser to check whether the new app is available for your phone, then follow the instructions for upgrading.

Doug at Mobile Asia Congress

Google Talk, Facebook Chat and more on Trutap

We’ve just added Facebook Chat, Google Talk, Rediff Bol and Jabber instant messaging to Trutap, along with the existing MSN, Yahoo!, AIM and ICQ messenger services. What’s more, there’s no need to upgrade - just go to the IM section on the Trutap app, choose ‘Add IM account’ from the menu, and you’ll see the list now includes all these additional providers. Add your account details and get chatting, wherever you are and from the comfort of your phone!

We’re gong to be adding more IM services to the service over the coming weeks, including MySpace, Gadu-Gadu, LiveJournal IM, Bonjour, Groupwise, IRC, XMPP, Sametime and Zephyr - so keep an eye out!

More blogs support - My Opera and Wordpress

Good news for bloggers who use My Opera or Wordpress - both of these services are now supported by Trutap, so you can post updates and photos from your phone. To start blogging from Trutap just add your account details in the usual way - go to ‘My Web’, choose ‘Set up account’ from the Menu, enter your blog details and you’re all set.

Hornet, our new content platform

Today’s a big day for us as we’ve just launched our global content platform, Hornet, and its first publisher partner, Goal.com. You can now get English Premiership stories from goal.com delivered to your Trutap inbox at least three times a day, giving you a hat-trick of all the top football action with detailed articles and related images. Trutappers across the world can subscribe to the messages for free, and there’s more coming - we’ll be launching a host of exciting new content services in the next few weeks. Stay tuned!
