Great news! After many months of perspiration and inspiration, today we're launching our next generation application at the Future of Mobile conference today in London. In addition to a stylish new design, the new version has lots of features that make finding and keeping in touch with friends really easy - including a personal newsfeed, a list of who's online, sharing of status and location, a new extended profile with lots more fields, improved user search, email and SMS! Plus the app has all the existing private messaging, news, blogging, photo-sharing and mobile IM features you know and love. Today's a big day for us as we've just launched our global content platform, Hornet, and its first publisher partner, Goal.com. Last night the University of Portsmouth had their free gig with The Enemy, after beating nine other universities in trutap Battle for The Enemy.

We just want to let everyone know that the issues we had today with web sign-up have now been resolved. Thank you for your patience during this beta stage.

This Monday we launched a mind-blowing campaign, which includes one of the hottest bands in the UK and thousands of crazed University students! We managed to get 10 of the largest universities in the country competing against each other to win a free gig from The Enemy, courtesy of trutap. Contestants will need to vote by sending a trutap message to the contact BFTE (Battle for The Enemy) with the name of their uni. Obviously the University with the most votes wins. It'll be a gruelling competition not to be missed! Who will win the Battle for the Enemy?

We don't want to brag, but we've gotten some great coverage after launching at TechCrunch40 on Monday. It's good to see what others think of trutap, after months of hard work to create this service.
